Reading Material

How do you pick what blogs or books to read? What’s the one thing that will get you to pick up a book or click on a link every single time?

For books I usually read the title /look at the cover and read the write-up. Yea, yea I know, don’t judge a book by its cover. But sometimes it’s the cover that draws you in and makes you think ‘Oh hey, that book looks like it might be something I want to read’. Then you read the write-up on the back and you can decide if you do or don’t want to read it.

For blogs, it is a bit different. I usually have to just read the title and/or the first few lines (what is first shown when looking), and if it sounds like something I am wanting to read I will click on it to read the rest of it.

There is no guarantee that just because I like one type of book or blog that I am going to read all of that type. The book or blog post still has to appeal to me for me to want read it.
